Enough With The Empty Promises!

We can no longer afford to be deceived by illusions. Service delivery has turned into a mere campaigning tool, wielded as a means to undermine the people’s resolve and foster dependence on the system or government. Which is troubling, because the failure in basic service delivery isn’t due to a lack of resources, but rather due to certain individuals who find comfort in keeping the rest of us in discomfort. This dynamic prompts us to seek their assistance and wait for their intervention, all while forgetting that these elected officials were chosen by the very people they now disregard.
I am frustrated with the same counselors who launch lousy campaigns every election season, yet when it’s time to deliver on their promises to the community, they go silent. We are in a precarious situation, and I can’t help but wonder how we ended up here. This is why I refuse to waste my time on pointless discussions or meaningless meetings where people pretend to engage with our issues, while in reality, they are out of touch with the community’s needs. It’s scary to see how essential water tanks have also shifted from being a necessity to a luxury that is only given to those who have connections in these times—this situation is far from amusing.
